Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level Examination eligibility details are given below:

Eligibility Conditions:

Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either:

  • (a) A citizen of India, or
  • (b) A subject of Nepal, or
  • (c) A subject of Bhutan, or
  • (d) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) above must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit: Candidates applying for SSC CGL Examination (Tier-I) should have the following age limits:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised University with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level, or a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
  • Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognised University or Institute.
  • Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or Institute.
  • All Other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or equivalent.

Physical Standards:

  • For the post of Inspector (Central Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer/Inspector & Sub-Inspector in CBN):

Male Candidates:

  • Height: 157.5 cms.
  • Chest: 81 cms. (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.)
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and members of Scheduled Tribes.
  • Physical Test:
    • Walking: 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
    • Cycling: 8 Kms in 30 minutes.

Female Candidates:

  • Height: 152 cms.
  • Weight: 48 Kgs
    • Height relaxable by 2.5 cms and weight relaxable by 2 Kgs for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese, and members of Scheduled Tribes.
  • Physical Test:
    • Walking: 1 Km in 20 minutes.
    • Cycling: 3 Kms in 25 minutes.

Note: For the post of Inspector (Central Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer), persons with disabilities will have to meet the physical standards (height, chest, and weight) as prescribed for the relevant post. However, for orthopedically disabled candidates, the following relaxation in Physical Test is allowed:

  • For the Post of Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation:

Men:

  • Height: 165 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Chest: 76 cms with expansion (no requirement for female candidates).
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.

Women:

  • Height: 150 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.
  • For the Post of Sub-Inspector in National Investigation Agency:

Men:

  • Height: 170 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Chest: 76 cms with expansion (no requirement for female candidates).
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.

Women:

  • Height: 150 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.
  • For the Post of Sub-Inspector/Junior Intelligence Officer in Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs:

Men:

  • Height: 165 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Chest: 76 cms with expansion (no requirement for female candidates).
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.

Women:

  • Height: 152 cms.
    • Height relaxable by 5 cms for Hillsmen and Tribals.
  • Vision:
    • Distant vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
    • Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other eye.

Note: Candidates must ensure they fulfill the physical standards for the posts they apply for. Physical measurements (including vision tests) will be conducted by the concerned departments, and only those who meet the specified requirements will be eligible. No requests for changing posts will be entertained if candidates fail to meet the physical standards.
